THE INFLUENCE OF ENGLISH AT INDONESIAN IN DAILY LIFE ESPECIALLY IN WRITING ON BLACKBERRY MESSENGER’S STATUS

Abstract
The aim of this research is to describe kinds of language code that used by people in their daily life. This research is categorized as a descriptive qualitative with case study on blackbarry messanger’s status. To collect the data research, the writer monitoring on his Blackbarry mesanger’s status.

The result at this research show that status on blackberry messenger grouped in three parts, they are code mixing, code switching, and Borrowing language. The first group is  Code mixing’s status, it divided become three categories, they are Insertation, alternation, and  congruent lexicalization. The insertions found five status wherein two status mixing in English and Java. One statuses categories in congruent lexicalization and one statuses categories in alternation.
The second group is Code switching, the status divided in three types, they are : three statuses include  Intra-sentential switching, one status include taq- switching, three statuses include Inter-sentimental switching. And the last group is borrowing language,

SCANNING OF STUDENTS’ LEARNING STYLE AT SMA NEGRI 7 LUBUKLINGGAU IN ACADEMIC YEARS 2015/2016

ABSTRACT

This research aims to know students’ learning style in mastery English at SMA Negri 7 Lubuklinggau, the researcher took an observation several students to know type of learning style that can be used by teacher in teaching English in the classroom. The researcher took 18 students as the subject of the research where is representative from the whole of student at SMA Negri 7 Lubuklinggau. The objectives at this research are to know the student in learning style in mastery English and the students’ learning strategies to improve their English proficiency. In this research, the researcher used qualitative research which focuses on naturalistic approach, because the researcher wants to know students’ condition in naturally when they learn English. The result show that  from eighteen students that chooses, seven students used kinaesthetic in learning English, six students used Auditory and five students used read and write. the result at this research as an inform to the teachers in teaching especially in English, they must understand the characteristic of their students and use mix strategies in teaching in the classroom, so students will understand all of the material well by their learning style.

BLOG AS ALTERNITIVE MEDIUM IN TEACHING LETERATURE

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to give insight and knowledge simply to teachers related the utilization of technology of blog. Today Internet becomes the most favourite to students in searching and gaining of knowledge quickly. The critical toward low quality at teachers in utilization of Information communication and technology (ICT), although as method, teaching medium and as alternative source in learning of literature should be one of suggestion to improve in teaching process. It should not happen caused the facilities have ready at each education institution, but teachers not yet have creativities in utilization. Hopefully this paper able to inspirited to teachers to able create a blog themselves that will use in teaching literature. It is to answer the challenging of education, so teachers do not blind about ICT.  ICT have big contribution as medium or tool to build skill in teaching process. Therefore, in the modern education’s world, teachers must able to use ICT in teaching process, especially in teaching literature. Literature is one of subject lesson that contain of realities in the society. Literature should convey with interesting method one of them using blog. Therefore, teaching and learning by using blog able to simplify the students to access the material in teachers’ blog. By giving opportunity as widely to access the material which written by teacher at teachers’ blog. Hopefully, it is one of teacher’s efforts in giving motivation to students to increase their spirit in understanding the material.

Design of summation decimal fractions by using lego in primary School

This research is a design research on the subject of equivalent fractions involving summation of fourth grade students in public primary schools 2 Kertosono as many as 26 students. Research design research aims to generate trajectories of learning (Learning Trajectory) on the subject of the sum equivalent fractions by using lego. The method used in this research is the research design method consists of three steps namely research preparation phase (pleminary design) in the form of literature studies and designing Hypotenical Learning Trajectory. The second stage is a design experiment consisting of two cycles of the pilot exsperiment and teaching experiment), while the third stage or the final stage of this research is the analysis of representative. Before you do your research first researchers to make assumptions of the (Hypotenical Learning Trajectory). The results of the learning trajectory suggests that students can understand the concepts sum equivalent fractions by using lego.

READING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES AT THE THIRD SEMESTER STUDENTS OF STKIP-PGRI LUBUKLINGGAU

Everywhere people find out written in the English that forces people to read and interpret the meaning of the text. For example; banners, direction, thing’s instruction and others. Can be sure that English be the challenges that must be faced by Indonesian people in everyday life, so they need to learn it well in order to keep develop of the times in the modern era.
English uses as the international language to do communication between people in the world, by mastering English well they easily to create relationship in all of field. In mastery English there are four skills that mast be understand such as: listening, reading, writing and speaking. All of them must be mastery well to able do relationship with other people in the world.
English teaches since Elementary till university level at state who first and second language non English, it can be said that English as foreign language. In Indonesia English as firs foreign language, so it is first foreign language that teaches at the school. One of skill that be strong problem in learning English is reading because English and Indonesia has differences from the written text and meaning, so Indonesian’s students must study hard to understand the meaning of the English text. Students have difficulty in translate the meaning from the text both word by word or general in meaning, so it is big problem that must be solve by students in mastery reading English skill. Lot of students gets the meaning from English text by lexical meaning, they translate based on word by word so the meaning is has no grammatical and confusing in meaning.
Process understanding meaning to get information from the text that conveyed by the writer can be said as reading activity.  It is clear that reading is a process that has to do with language, therefore, students must be assisting to respond to the symbol-visual which image the same auditory sign that they have previously responded. While the main purpose of reading to seek and obtain information, including the content of the meaning of the passage. The meaning is intimately related to the purpose or our intensive in reading. To success in reading skill, students must have strategies that must be used; they are several reading such as Previewing: reviewing titles, section headings, and photo captions to get a sense of the structure and content of a reading selection. Predicting, Skimming and scanning, guessing from context, paraphrasing.

Based on the statement above, the researcher interested to know students’ strategies in mastery English reading skill at the third semester at STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau. Researcher will take subject 60 students from six study program, namely biology, psychical, mathematics, history, Indonesia and English study program. Each study program will choose ten people that take by high, middle and lower score English general on the result of final examination of semester two. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative research that focus on case study to know the problematic that faced by students naturally. The data will collect by giving test, in dept interview and after the data collected the data will analyzes and describe the result clearly. So the writer interested to take a research in reading skill entitled ’’Reading and Learning Strategies at the Third Semester Students of STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau”. 

SOCIETY’S ATTITUDES TOWARD INDONESIA AND PERSPECTIVE IN FACING THE ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY


Abstrak

This tittle research “Society’s Attitudes toward Indonesia and Perspective in Facing the ASEAN Economic Community” aims to describe students attitudes Indonesian and Literature Program STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau South Sumatera toward Indonesia and perspective in facing ASEAN Economic Community. Problem of research is why students attitudes Indonesian and Literature Program STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau South Sumatera toward Indonesia and perspective in facing ASEAN Economic Community. The population of research with total number 543and sampel withtotal number 55or 25%.Data collection with questionaire tecqnique.From the data analisis and resuls research show that students attitudes positive (88,44%) and negative (11,56%) toward Indonesia as international language to communicat in Asean Economic Community, Indonesian is also able to become International language. Considering the potential of Indonesian  intralingually has the fundamental  rule, and extralingually high number of native speakers. Therefore, the existence  of Asean Economic Community is able to increase the prestige of Indonesian language.

The Analysis of Miscues in Reading DescriftiveText Made by the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri Purwodadi

1.  Background
Language is an essential medium in human’s life. People will get problems and will get difficulty in communication without having a language. As a matter of fact, in globalization era, English is an important language because almost all the sources of knowledge such as articles, journals, newspapers, books, and magazines are written and published in English. However, in order to have a deep understanding and well mastered in English as a foreign language, someone has to learn four language skills. Those are listening, speaking, reading and writing. Among the four language skills, reading is one of the skills which plays an important role in all aspects of life especially in advanced era where information communication, and technology instructions are also written in English.
Reading is one of the language skills that the teachers of english should teach at school. Mclaughlin and allen (2002:1)  statesthat reading can make the student visualize, monitor, and things about words. Since reading plays an important part to develop the students’ achievement and knowledge, the teaching and learning process in high school should be focused on reading activities.
            Unfortunately, many students still have problems and weaknesses in their reading skill and aspects that support it. In addition, many students feel that reading is a burden. They find it difficult to read, and they do not have enough time to read. Based on observation, the tenth grade students at SMA Purwodadi had problems in reading comprehension, it was shown with their mean score of English was 68.57. It was taken from 35 students, there were 14 students who passed the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) of reading 72. It was classified that the students’ reading comprehension was still in low level. Briefly, it can be stated that many students did not master the reading text, and they have no interest in learning English especially learning how to read well. As the result, their achievement in reading comprehension is still below the reading MMC 72.
            Moreover, based on the information of the observation, the writer found out that the tenth grade students had many problems, the problems that appeared were: (1) students cannot develop their knowledge on the reading text genre. It means that the students could not memorize and know well about the generic structure of the text, (2) the students mostly had problems in translating the words, phrases and sentences, (3) the students were difficult to draw conclusion from implied detailed information, especially each main idea of each paragraph, and (4) the students were not aware to locate the specific information, in terms of line, sentences, and paragraph in a text.Briefly, it can be stated that many students have no interest in learning English especially learning how to read well. As the result, their achievement in reading comprehension is still below standard.
Referring to the problems above, the writer would liketo research narrative text. By knowing the description of people, place, or thing will make the students enrich their reading comprehension. Therefore, the writer chooses the narrative text in this research. The development of students’ description can be done by introducing new ideas into their world, and when students read description that contain picture, it can help them understand and accept their own feelings.

Based on the illustration above, this study describes “The Analysis of Miscues Made by The tenth Grade Students in Reading Descriptive text at SMA NegeriPurwodadi in the academic year of 2015/2016. The writer is interested in choosing this topic because the writer wants to find out what are the types of miscues in reading stories and there is no research on the topic at this school before.
